We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic, conceptual senior copywriter to join us – someone with an understanding of strategy and human truths, a desire to create big ideas and tell compelling stories, and of course, a flair for writing in different tonalities and styles.

You need to love big ideas beyond anything else, have a good understanding of the digital landscape, a keen interest in the latest technological trends, the ability to put together a user journey and a desire to break boundaries.

You will work closely with teams including strategy, social media, digital media (display, social and search), other client service team members, creative, UX and tech departments.

You will:

  • Need to be able to take a strategy and turn it into a big, platform idea that can live with the brand
  • Be able to write for a number of channels and platforms – from digital media all the way through to print headlines
  • Understand client strategies, business problems and briefs, and translate these into creative solutions and executions
  • Help lead the creative department in finding integrated creative solutions
  • Lift the creative profile of our agency
  • Be involved in in strategic development on major projects
  • Build relationships with clients based on trust and respect
  • Present our creative product to clients
  • Build relationships with key outside suppliers, briefing them on projects, events and accompanying creative teams through the production process – ensuring the highest production values
  • Motivate and inspire good relationships within the creative department and between the department and the rest of the agency
  • Direct the activities and professional development of creative team members, including conducting staff reviews, taking corrective actions and recommending promotions
  • Develop a working environment which is conducive to the development of effective, award winning creative
  • Write effective copy for big brands
  • Collaborate with creatives to conceptualise and execute great ideas
  • Work under the guidance of the senior management
  • Work collaboratively with the team
  • Liaise with traffic department to ensure job deadlines are adhered to
  • Work within a highly-charged team environment and be a support to fellow team members
  • Stay on top of industry and emerging digital trends and apply such learnings in order to deliver relevant, fresh ideas that are on par with and ahead of industry standards

You have:

  • Relevant tertiary degree
  • Five years’ experience in an advertising agency, with previous experience in digital and social media (but not necessarily through a traditional digital agency)
  • An interest in culture, pop culture and audience trends.
  • Experience working with a team of creatives
  • Able to work closely with creative directors to achieve the desired product
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Great conceptual skills with a strong command of the English language
  • Well-rounded knowledge of marketing principles
  • Great understanding of the basics of digital strategy
  • Experience working with and managing a team of creatives
  • Experience working with a team of technologists
  • Experience using Adobe products, focusing on Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Thorough understanding of designing for digital channels, video production and content creation including social and media strategies
  • Excellent understanding of marketing and digital strategy and UI, UX and information architecture
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • A love for copywriting, design, content creation and all things digital
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The ability to maintain good relationships with clients and team members
  • The ability to multitask and problem solve
  • Good analysis and interpretation skills
