Mark Tomlinson
Group Executive Creative Director
Hellocomputer’s founder and executive creative director, Mark founded one of South Africa’s early new media agencies, Generator, in 1999. After a string of successful projects for Alfa Romeo, AXE and Dentyne, Mark further focused his creative skills by establishing Hellocomputer, encompassing his vision to make technology more human.

Simon Spreckley
Executive Creative Director
Returning from London to begin his career in the local Industry, Simon’s first start was as a Designer and Animator at Generator Communications (1999), then as Senior Designer at Stonewall+ (2003), as Creative Head of Hellocomputer (2005) and at present is Creative Director and Associate.
During his 10+ years of work in digital, Simon has produced award-winning work for leading brands. These include Loerie’s, FWA’s and recently a Webby Honouree.

Samuel Goldenbaum
Technical Director
Samuel started his early career in 1998 at Enterprise Connection, initially as software engineer before focusing completely on software development and progressing into technical management. He has lived the UK and Australia and worked on a range of projects for British Telecom, Microsoft UK, MSN, Old Mutual, Toyota and other international companies.
Focusing primarily on Microsoft Solutions, Samuel has implemented solutions from Classic ASP to .Net Framework 4.5 and remains active in the architecture and development of current projects.
An Agile adopter, Samuel continues to drive Scrum and Agile engineering principles throughout the development lifecycle.

Robyn Gibson
Business Unit Director
Robyn heads up Account Management at Hellocomputer. As well as creating a seamless relationship between client and studio, she helps to facilitate award-winning work that uses a combination of smart strategy and forward-thinking technology.

Derek Coles
Managing Director
Derek Coles started his career working for Toyota South Africa as a management trainee. Within Toyota, he moved up to Dealer Marketing Manager and finished up as Lexus Sales Manager, before making his way to Lindsay Smithers FCB. After 4 years in the Client Service Department at the Johannesburg office of FCB, Derek was given the opportunity to become Managing Director of Draftfcb in Durban. Upon his return to Johannesburg, after a 9 year stay in the Durban offices, Derek took up the role of running the digital and public relations divisions for the Draftfcb group.
Derek is a Draftfcb Exco member and a member of the Hellocomputer board.

Kerry Friend
Executive Creative Director
Since early 1999, Kerry has worked at a number of South Africa’s leading agencies; including TBWA Hunt Lascaris, Ogilvy, Grey and DDB. Although her surroundings may have changed, her work ethic and creative vision have not. Within various work environments and changing team dynamics, Kerry has developed high profile integrated campaigns for a number of South Africa’s top brands. All of which have led her to this point: Executive Creative Director of Hellocomputer’s Johannesburg office. Kerry implements a holistic approach to problem solving which results in ground breaking, multi-channeled campaigns.

Johan Pieterse
Technical Director
Johan started his career in early 2000 at Prism/Tinderbox, with his work being the first in SA to integrate with Galileo's new XML system. He developed online travel booking systems for various clients: Rennies Travel, eTravel, Discovery Health, Old Mutual, it would be fair to say the big fish.
He then moved to Discovery Health to continue and conclude his work on the Vitality Travel portal.
After branching out and developing systems for a bank in Greece, Johan began to miss the vibe of a digital agency. He started working at FCB in late 2003 as a senior .net developer, working on exciting campaigns such as; Auris City and the Yaris brand launch, which won a silver Apex Award.
After a promotion to Web Production Manager (2008) and then Technical Director (2012), he now leads a great team of developers while working on campaigns such as Hilux Man Up.

Debbie Klintworth
Business Unit Director
In Debbie’s case, it might be easier to put it simply: eighteen years of experience in marketing, sales, promotions, channel account management, customer relationship management, key account management and project management.
Oh, and in industries ranging from telecommunications and casinos to software and FMCG.
Her skills within management are as extensive: client relationships, internal account management teams, digital asset portfolios and online advertising campaigns, mobile campaigns and website development.
It’s a lot to list, but it’s what makes Debbie the Business Unit Director for us.
