Senior Web Developer
About you:
You care about standards and are no stranger to passionate debates about best practices. Writing validated code is a matter of course. Tables are a distant nightmare that still make you feel a bit dirty. HTML 5 excites you the same way as pizza leftovers in the morning. You understand how CSS 3 and Canvas fit into the puzzle. You wrestle the box model until that pixel falls into place, because you take pride in your work. You aren’t afraid to try out new frameworks or learn a new language. You see the beauty in well written code, and understand that application performance is not just a fancy term, but a lifestyle choice. The challenge of crafting award-winning work gets you up early and keeps you up late.

Core competencies
You should be able to eat these for breakfast:
- PHP and MySQL
- Standards compliant HTML and CSS
- JavaScript
Further requirements
These will all form a major part of your job, so equivalent experience is required:
- MVC framework paradigms (specifically CodeIgniter)
- Back-end/services development
- Version Control methodologies (SVN/Git)
- CMS experience, both heavy theming and customisation (Wordpress/Drupal). Installing your Mom's blog doesn't count.
- 3rd party API integration (Facebook/OAuth)
- Mobile web development
The Web is a fast-paced environment with a constantly shifting tech landscape. The best strategy is to be passionate about what you do, and be part of establishing the future. If anything else makes you excited (Mobile Apps, OOP JS Frameworks, Continuous Integration, Automated Deployment etc.) don't be afraid to tell us; we love being stimulated and challenged!
Be an intern
Internships are paid and generally last three months. If your application is successful, you’ll be inducted into our internship program and get to work on live projects from start to finish. You’ll work hard and learn as much as you want to. Please be aware that an internship does not guarantee a position in the studio.
